From historical point of view Ancient Egypt is the oldest state in the world. It is interesting not only for its numerous monuments (pyramids in Saqqara, pyramids in Abusir, pyramids in Giza, temples in Karnak, temples in Luxor, Ramesseum and many others), that survived the centuries and for today's generation they are silent witnesses of bygone times. Only two centuries sufficed to two different cultures consolidation (southern part - Upper Egypt - and northern part - Lower Egypt). The south was more powerful in the united Egypt, but the north influenced the structure of social order significantly. That gradually developed unified Egypt, that (like all ancient countries) went through a period of prosperity and downfall as well. Egypt was significantly different from the other states, that were rather urban states for a long time.

Although the unity of Egypt were more of less threatened in some periods, the political and religious structures always ensured an artificial but still a solid balance. The theocratic monarchy was supported by a perfect organization of the government and powerful priests. Only a strong centralized state was able to manage such different regions and their inhabitants with different belief.
